Digital Risk Decision Scientist- Santa Ana, Costa R ica

We are looking for someone who would be part of the Decision Sciences team responsible for managing fraud losses while optimizing revenue opportunities for Western Union digital transactions.

 

Role Responsibilities

Design and implement risk models to screen online transactions and stop fraudulent ones, analyzing online transaction activity to identify loss reduction opportunities and devise actionable plans to exploit such opportunities.
Conduct ad-hoc/exploratory analysis and provide accurate results in response to internal and external requests.
Manage multiple projects and data requests in a timely manner.
Support Senior/Staff Risk Scientists with ad-hoc analysis in response to internal and external requests
Develop champion/challenger test practices, including post-implementation and monitoring to results.
Most of your time will be spent working on solutions to critical problems, querying databases, and performing various analytical/statistical techniques.

 

Role Requirements

Data Scientist degree or in a similar field such as Economics, Statistics, or Math.
2 years of experience in Data Analytics and Machine Learning.
It’s required to have a working knowledge of statistical analysis tools like R, SQL, and Python.
Experience and knowledge using Power BI will help you excel in this role.
High English proficiency C1+ to communicate across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills to convey fraud insight
Ability to analyze problems and produce a justification to enhance fraud decisions.
